How To Create Sysman User Manually In Oracle 12c

On the Security page, click Create. In the Create Role Wizard, on the Properties page, enter a unique name for the role, and click Next. On the Roles page, from the Available Roles list, select the Oracle-defined roles you want to grant explicitly to the role you are creating, and click Next. Use the CREATE USER statement to create and configure a database user, which is an account through which you can log in to the database, and to establish the means by which Oracle Database permits access by the user.

Oracle 12c introduced new functionality to make the userid/password hash values more secure. Here is a link to the 12c Security Guide where it talks about the 12c Verifier for passwords. Note in that section, it mentions a salt value added to the password when it is hashed. Oracle Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) is a tool for creating and configuring an Oracle database. 2.3.1 About Creating a Database with DBCA Oracle strongly recommends using the Database Configuration Assistant (DBCA) to create a database, because it is a more automated approach, and your database is ready to use when DBCA completes. Goal

This article provides steps for modifying the password of SYSMAN and other Enterprise Manager (EM) Cloud Control users in the OMS configuration and the Repository database in a Cloud Control system.
Simply changing the password in the repository database SYSMAN account is not sufficient as the password is also stored in the WebLogic Server (WLS) credential store. The OMS uses the SYSMAN account to log in to the repository database and if there is a mismatch in the password in the database SYSMAN account and in the OMS configuration, the OMS cannot start and function properly.
For steps to follow in the earlier Enterprise Manager versions, refer to:
<Note 270516.1>: How to Change the Password of SYSMAN User in 10g and 11g Grid Control

Notes:
Starting with EM 12c, directly modifying the password for SYSMAN or any other repository user at the Repository Database is not recommended.
Hence, ensure that the passwords are changed only using one of the methods listed below.
Due to the importance of the SYSMAN schema to the proper functioning of EM 12c Cloud Control, users who wish to change the SYSMAN password with the procedure described here are advised to back up the OMS instance(s) and repository prior to beginning the password change procedure. This reference shows how to back up the EM 12c components (and restore, should it be necessary):
