• Make sure the lift moves freely on its castors.
• Examine the spreader bar (cow horns) is firmly attached to the boom.
• Examine the sling hooks and attachment clips on the spreader bar and boom for excessive wear.
• Make sure the legs open and close correctly.
• Operate the hand control to confirm the boom raises and lowers satisfactorily.
• On electric powered lifts check the operation of the emergency stop button.
• Examine slings for fraying or other damage. DO NOT use any sling if damaged or if the sling shows signs of wear.
• Confirm the lift is not giving a low battery alarm when the hand control is
operated. If the alarm sounds, DO NOT use and place on charge immediately.

Boom: Single boom with an attached U shaped bar with the sling attachment points and also provides a handgrip for the user.
Push Handle: A large square shaped push handle is connected to the top of the mast
Footplate: The one piece foot platform has a slip resistant surface. It can be removed to allow for gait training.
Controls: A hand held on an extendable cord operates the lift and adjusts the width of the lift legs. The hoist has an emergency button.
Knee Pad: A moulded knee pad extends from the base of the mast and is height adjustable by 152mm. It includes a strap that goes around the calves for additional support.
Castors: Swivel style. Dual 100mm diameter castors on the front and 100mm diameter castors with lock on brakes on the back.
Slings: The Oxford Transport and Oxford Standing slings are compatible with this hoist. The Transport and Standing sling is an easy fit sling, suitable for standing and supporting. It is not a general purpose sling and patients must be assessed for suitability by a qualified person.
Power Source: Battery is mounted on the mast.
Battery Recharging: The battery is removed from the lift and connected to the supplied separate battery charger.
Safety features: Emergency stop button is activated through the control box. Once activated the person can be raised or lowered using the emergency controls. In case of complete electrical failure, safety release button on the mast will lower a person down but not elevate them.
